Spindle Widow

My poor little Jenkins. I hardly knew ye.

This happened last night while I was test driving my Turkish spindle. The single I was spinning broke and the spindle dropped. I caught it reflexively (but not violently) between my calves. Snap went the cross bar.

Guess I’m not taking you to France after all, little guy.

I’m sending him (how do I know it’s a him?) off in the mail to the Jenkins spindle hospital today for diagnosis and treatment. Or a possible transplant procedure.

  1. Oh no, that’s a shame! I have two Jenkins (an Aegean and a Lark) and they’re both good little spinners, I prefer the smaller Lark. I was going to suggest you take that one on the plane, the smaller spindles are easier for me to spin while seated. Good luck on your trip!

  2. Lark is a great idea. I’ll put that on my list for the future. Jenkins was just at Black Sheep Gathering in June, so they seem to be out of spindles right now.

  3. Uh oh… well better to go bust before leaving home :-/ At least you won’t need to be lugging around a broken spindle… ‘guess that lightens your decision load? 🙂 ♥ ❤
