Today is day 7 of Knitting and Crochet Blog Week. The topic of the day is Looking Backward, Looking Forward.

I have three fleeces, three luscious fleeces
Bought at a festival last night
A Jacob, a Corriedale, and a Rambouillet-cross
I’ve got my work cut out for me, all right.

Honestly, that’s as much of my knitting and spinning future as I can foresee. I have three fleeces sitting in my living room. I need to skirt, sort and clean them so I can get them out of my living room.
This is not crafty ambition. This is physical necessity.
Thankfully today is a sunny day, perfect weather for fleece sorting out on the lawn.
I’m starting with the Jacob first. It’s the cleanest.
Good luck!
One day at the time….
Slowly but surely…
Very very slooooowwwwly
I’ve never bought a fleece, because I have nothing like enough space to skirt and wash it myself. However, I just learned that you can buy one and send it to a mill for processing (d’oh!) and get lovely clean roving back! I may be in trouble at my next festival.
Indeed you can. I’ve never done so but I’ve heard good things about the experience. I sort of enjoy processing it myself. Although I may change my mind sometime in the middle. This is A LOT of wool.
Wow, you’ll be busy. Lots of photos along the way, please!
That’s right, I’ve got to try to remember to take photos. I get so absorbed in just getting it done. So much wool.
Wonderful!
