In Spinner’s Paradise at Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival

I spent three happy hours browsing the Country Store stalls at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival this afternoon.

The first impression is an assault of glorious color on all sides. Beautiful sock yarns, luscious dyed locks, hanks of yarn hung long and swinging.

And then there are the stalls full of tools. Ingeniously designed travel kates and skein winders. Glossy polished nostepinnes in spalted maple and whorled walnut. Cunning over-the-shoulder spinner’s baskets, made with a built-in spindle holder.

I was delighted to find multiple vendors selling dyed Cormo. I found so little of it at Black Sheep Gathering.

By the time I left I was grinning as manically as these felted dolls. I can’t wait to go back tomorrow.
